Stuntmen open the Beach Comber in Well Fleet!
It was a cold and rainy night on one of the furthermost eastern parts of Massachusetts. It was also one of the most sought after gigs on the buisiest weekend of the year. Enter Drunk Stuntmen. Once voted most likely to be included in a "best of" poll, Drunk Stuntmen were invited to kick off the opening weekend for Wellfleet's Beachcomber. Though it would be only natural to think that all the traffic, (which started on tuesday), must have been Stuntfans eager to catch a glimpse of their favorite band in the best music venue on the Cape, media outlets reported that some of it was due to a giant influx of gold filled lobsters which had been sighted near the Provincetown coast. Though the lobsters looked and acted like normal lobsters while in the water, hefted in the air some "magic lobbies" weighed in at nearly 50 pounds and were worth upwards of 5000 dollars (including an 18 percent gratuity for parties of 8 or more (which are the only parties worth going to).
The gig was a grand success. A full house of eager virgins and seasoned Stuntfans alike greeted each song with raucous and heartfelt applause. Rock flowed easily and furiously from the band with help resident guy on the sound and Steevo at the bar. New songs like "Underground", "Rock, Paper, Stone", and "New Instrumental" were peppered throughout the two and a half hours of Stunt madness. Old favorites such as "Aftermath", "Stuntgrass", and "Clear Channel" were bandied about like a Maylasian streetwalker. Freddy couldn't help point out how cute the waitresses were and how easy it was to not talk to them.
All in all it was a great night of rock and a fantastic way to kick off the unofficial start of summer. There sure is a lot going on for the Stuntmen what with gigs and all, but I'd be willing to bet you'll get to see them again at the Beachcomber before the season's over. Now, what do you dip a solid gold lobster tail in...?
Do your own stunts. Now!
