State Fair Release - Boston and Northampton
Once again, we are fortunate to have experienced that unique occasion where "Winter In New England" became Summer in New England with the next morning's sunrise.
I hope you all are enjoying this amazing weather. Northampton never looked as good as it did this afternoon, while Freddy Freedom and I sat on the steps in front of Ben and Bill's Chocolate Emporium. We were catching up and basically engaging in some good old fashioned relaxation and time well spent, doing nothing.
It seems like just yesterday I was writing about the advent of Winter in New England as I peered out the window and described the first extended snow storm of the season. Not too far away, during that same winter weather event, the first few words of a new blog, Fearless By Default, were being typed by Freddy, who had found a new path; a new venue for all of the thoughts bouncing around in that big creative and freshly cleared head of his. That blog has taken on a life of it's own and I strongly encourage you to check it out. Especially the most recent entries.

If you do, you can read all about most recent exploits of Stuntman Steve Sanderson and Fearless Freddy Freedom as they participated in a most incredible adventure. We are assuming that anyone reading this watched Steve and Freddy performing with the Young@Heart Chorus on the Tonight Show with Jay "Hello Guys" Leno and Ellen the daytime show hosted by Ellen Degeneres.
I would tell you more, but Freddy's first hand account, including pictures, is amazing and should not be missed.
Speaking of things which should not be missed ... there are two opportunities this week to not only see the Drunk Stuntmen perform, but to pick up a new copy of State Fair. The Drunk Stuntmen will be hosting a record release party at Church 69 Kilmarnock St., Boston, MA, Thursday April 24. Matt Caldeira opens the show at 9 PM, The Dirty Truckers at 9:45 and the Stuntmen hit the stage at 10:45.
After an almost 6 month absence, Drunk Stuntmen will have the home field advantage, Friday the 25th, as they bring the State Fair Tour to the Iron Horse Music Hall, 21 Center St., Northampton, MA., for the hometown record release party. It is a 10 PM show. If you want to make an evening of it, Fred Eaglesmith is the featured performer at the 7 PM show. Tickets are available at nbotickets.com. This show is probably going to be pretty well attended, we suggest you get your tickets in advance.
If you do not get an opportunity to procure your copy of State Fair at these shows, you can pre-order the album at Barnesandnoble.com for a low low price of $11.19 It is being distributed by Select-o-Hits out of Memphis, TN.(selectohits.com)
If the Fox Searchlight Film Young@Heart is just a tease and leaves you wanting to see more, you can feed that jones with the Drunk Stuntmen/Young@Heart Chorus Back to Back DVD. This DVD captures a performance of these amazing groups collaborating on some Drunk Stuntmen songs at Northampton's Academy of Music, in 2004. This DVD is available by clicking the catalog button at drunkstuntmen.com
