A Quick One

Not to be misleading with the title of this article. No, the Stuntmen are not thinking about any Who covers. Although it does seems like it has been a fortnight since the last Drunk Stuntmen performance when it has been mere days...

Well, might as well start out with the Rt. 63 Roadhouse. We know New Years Eve is tough. Sometimes there are work obligations, sometimes there are family obligation or baby sitting restriction which will keep you away from doing what you REALLY want to do on New Years Eve. If you weren't there you missed out on one of the finest performances EVER!

We know we have to compete with First Night in Northampton, which we did play to a packed house at the Elevens. Johnny J. Jones and his little one enjoyed the show from behind the glass in the pool room. We were also competing for the same crowd with other bands such as the very talented Ware River Club who had a reunion show.

The crowd at the Rt. 63 Roadhouse was decent. Many of the die hard Stuntfans were there. And we have to be honest. Listening to the live recording of the show....whew! If you were there you know what I am talking about. Blistering - absolutley stunning musicianship all around. The music was incredible. Freddy, speaking of listening to the replay said, "It was so good I had to put on headphones on. And I hate headphones they make me claustrophobic!"

We promise we will grant you access to the recording one way or another. Highlights of the show included Bow Bow leading the crowd in a call and response segment during 6:29. He was playing a riff on the trumpet and the crowd would respond with their party horns. Highlights of the night included Gravedigger, Bolinas, Ooh Las Vegas, Trailer Life and the winner of the message board voting for the cover of the year, War Pigs!

What really made the night were the Awesome desserts provided by the Roadhouse crew. Thank you.

Saturday night Jan 5, at the Roadhouse, Yarn returns for a headlining gig.
